

The largest producer of hair is China with around 90% of world production, the rest divided between France, Germany, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Chile and Argentina. It’s usage is particularly in knitwear and fantasy yarns with 2 of it’s features being it can absorb water up to 38% of its dry weight without feeling wet and it’s light weight due to specific gravity is 1:10 compared to 1:31 wool .
